Default dtsoftbus01.sys causing issues with Backup Exec 2010 R3

    Howdy,

I recently installed Daemon tools to mount an iso temporarily under windows server 2008 R2. It has now been uninstalled however I am now having issues with backup exec and the exceptions it is causing during Full backups.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Cheers

Have you used a portable installation of DAEMON Tools ?
If not, have used the standard uninstall routine of DT ?

I reckon the warning occurs because HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\servic es\dtsoftbus01 is still present.

    Hi Terramex,

Thank you for the prompt reply. unfortunately that Key does not exist in my registry.

The program was uninstalled using "Programs and Features"

There are however the following keys in registry containing the "dtsoftbus01"

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Cl ass\{9D3039DD-CCA5-4B4D-B33D-E2DDC8A8C52E}\Class\ dtsoftbus01 (String)

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Cr iticalDeviceDatabase\root#dtsoftbus01

    Thanks

Both are "normal" leftovers after uninstalling DT lite.
Today i've deleted both on two Windows 7 systems without afterclap.
The Class key though seems to be only deletable offline:
    Regedit as offline Registry editor

Hope that solves the exception issue.
