how can I start the dtlite when XP boot with my application instead of the explorer?

My XP system is booted with my own application instead of the explorer(XP Desktop). I try to start the dtlite.exe before my application by setting register's runservice parameter. But I find it doesn't work in my applcition while the other application such as strokeit.exe and TotalMedia Theatre could work. Does the Dtlite work only in the XP Desktop? What is the solution for me ?
