  • Image format using compression and hashsum?

    hey there.

I keep my CD images in iso or mdf (depending on needed subchannel/position etc information). - usually I archive currently unused Images using 7z or rar format.

now I heard about compressed image formats, so I'm thinking about rearchiving those files.

    my questions now are:

which compressed Image format (supported by dt) uses best compression algorithm? can they keep up to 7z and rar compression results?
are they using hashsums to verify integrity, like archive do?
are they able to "link" duplicate files to the same "physikal" data area? (like multi-disks or cds-to-dvd-compilations sometime shave)
