  • Find out exact SafeDisc or SecuRom version

    Hi...

if you've ever wondered how some people can tell which exact version of
a copy protection a game uses, you might find these two tools useful:

...shows you the exact version of SafeDisc used, e.g. v2.80.010

...shows you the exact version of SecuRom used, e.g. 4.83.52.0070

I didn't know whether it's allowed to post direct external links, so I made
    them not-working...

    [EDIT]Links are now clickable!

nice to see I could help someone...

I've been wondering myself for quite some time how they got the exact versions until eventually I decided to ask in a forum... thought others might wonder too

The SecuROM unwrapper is repacked into another protectionlayer so scanning is useless in case of Gothic 2, or, simple, try to dump the entire memory and search for yourself, maybe the desired string is intact elsewhere (didn't proofed that for myself, too busy atm)
