  • Starforce plays it dirty

    Check this link:

Galactic Civilizations II - You are the leader of the human civilization in deep space and compete against unknown races to colonize planets while attempting to dominate and survive.

Starforce people have put a direct link to a torrent file for Galactic Civilizations II on their forum, because the game has no copy protection.

I guess that shows what kind of company Starforce really is.

an admin posted it......I hope he get fired and i hope that the starforce copy protections will be forbidden.

        ...

        devils advocate:

I don't think most of the employees of Starforce would have agreed to posting that link on their own forum. They could have done just like Galactic Civilizations did and take a screenshot and blur out bad details (URL, parts of torrent filename(s)). But this was definitely a mistake on the Starforce Admin's part and can be viewed by some people as a greedy move. But I don't think whomever posted that link actually intented any financial harm.

They also made a sticky on their forum about the so-called 'rootkit' in Daemon Tools...

Looks like Starforce people can't handle defeat

At the end it will be that a company obligatorily has to pay to other so this one creates a protection.

This company of course must put this protection, sell this game/program more expensive cause they have to pay a protection that donґt want.

They already have a good "protection", some services like frequently updates, a good license and etc.

Read the story and share what you think. Personally i take the latter option!

Maybe they really just made a mistake. Who knows.
They apologized for it and removed the link.
Also the game's lead designer said after correspondence with Starforce: "I don't think there was any sort of malicious intent"
I think this incident is cleared.

UbiSoft being sued because of SF?

Anyone else heard this? Is it true?

I don't know about your article but Penny Arcade did a comic on the Galactic Civilizations II thing. Oddly its titled "In League With Demonic Forces" which is definitely not referring to daemon tools.
