  • pc unable to boot into windows

hi. my pc for some reason will not boot into windows. as soon as the win xp logo pops up, it restarts. If i boot into safe mode a message comes up saying "Press ESC to cancel loading SPTD.sys" i press ESC and then the pc restarts. if i press nothing it wont go anyware. it doesnt go into safe mode. i have DT ver 4.0 installed on my pc. i installed DT like a few months ago. ive been told that this a DT problem or a USB problem. what is the SPTD.sys file and why doesnt my pc boot.

    please help thanks!!!

Boot with your Windows cd into recovery console, log on to your Windows installation (requires Administrator password), change dir (cd) to Windows\System32\Drivers directory and rename sptd.sys and dtscsi.sys, then reboot (exit).
Also check if you've minidump (in Windows\Minidump folder) related to that crash. If so send newest file to support@daemon-tools.cc with reference to this thread.
