I recently got a Motion Computing M1300 Centrino-based tablet, with Windows XP Tablet Edition installed, and installed a copy of Daemon Tools 3.33. I've been a long-time user, and this is a new problem for me. Any time I mount an image, the image mounts, but then daemon.exe causes an access violation (C0000005). Stack trace at end of message, and user.dmp file easily generatable...

Error caused by SetWindowPlacement making a call into address 54591518, which is not mapped to any loaded memory space, and the address is invalid.

Operating System: Windows XP Tablet PC edition (Centrino)
Burning Software: Blindwrite
Anti-virus Software: Norton
DAEMON Tools Version: V3.33

Well there ya go! Just when I thought my new Tablet PC from Acer was the best thing since sliced bread, I load up Daemon tools and find exactly the same problem as the previous writer.

As I have used Daemon tools for a long time with out problems on my desktop PCs. I did not suspect Daemon Tools to be the problem. (This was not too difficult as I think Daemon Tools is a God amongst programs. 8) )

I thought at first it was the default CD burning software that was installed on the PC. But after deinstalling the burning software and finding the same problem I concluded that there must be something about the Tablet PC or OS. The above post seems to confirm that the probelm is with Windows XP Tablet OS and Daemon Tools interoperability.

I will not repeat the error details as they have been discribed above. But suffice to say, the error is exactly the same. Same code, same memory address, same every thing. The only difference being that the PC is different.
PC: Acer Travelmate C110 running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.

As this problem was logged a little while ago by the previous writer, the question I have is: Is there anybody looking into it and what is the cuurent status.

If I get quick answer I might make another donation to this worthy cause

All the best to the Daemon Tools team.

If it would help the team, I'm a seasoned Windows kernel developer, and can do some/any debugging neccessary, if there are a lot of other issues.

I need someone with debugger (eg. SoftIce) installed on this hardware.
Then i could give him special version so we could try to locate where it happens.

Well, as it happens, here's one I prepared earlier.

The primary use for my Acer Tablet PC is as a study tool, reading ebooks mainly; also I do a little programming from time to time when I am away from home and I have (on the very rare occasion) a little inspiration. To that end I have installed on the PC - MASM32, Radasm and I also use Ollydbg v1.09d for debugging.

Don't misunderstand me - I am not a main stream programmer so what ever you would like me to test, you will need to be explicit in your instructions.

I do have Softice v4.05 if you would prefer.

Let me know

Jeeze VeNoM386, you must live breath and sleep with your PC  , you are undoubtable, one of the fastest responders in a forum I have seen for a long time. Well done!

As an aside and for general information, I have download and installed the latest version (V3.41);
sadly the problem still exsist.

I know it was a long shot, but you never know, sometimes small instablities like this one can disappear across versions.

I will be emailing you shortly. (after me dinner! am starving!)

Just like to say thanks to VeNoM386 and all the development team.

I've just downloaded the latest version (v3.46) and I am happy to report that the issue I was having has now been fixed. Well done and thanks once again for superb, dedicated support of a great product.

Heres to your continued success.
