  • BSOD / reboot after trying to install (x64).

    Hi there.

I have some weird problems. I tried to install deamon tools today, on my brand new XP x64 system. The install tells me to reboot in the beginning of the installation because of some SCSI (or something) controller needs to be installed.

After that the computer boots, and then simply reboots every time it goes into windows.
I have searched this board, and found out that it could be starforce that is causing this problem. The weird thing is, that I do not have starforce drivers installed. (I even checked by using the tools to update/remove it). Anyway, I can fix the rebooting by doing the regedit editing (changing a digit (0) named "Start" to "4".

I don't get it, what am I doing wrong?
This is a fresh install of XP. Ive only got the following programs installed:

    Settlers 2: next generation demo
    Black&White II

    That's it :/

    Thanks in advance

Do you have minidump (in Windows\Minidump folder) related to such crash? If so send newest file unpacked (i.e. not ZIP'ed nor RAR'ed etc.) to support@daemon-tools.cc with reference to this thread.
