After doing a repair install of windows yesterday I started to experience problems with daemon tools 4.xx When I tried to reinstall the SPTD driver it give me access errors and so I tried to experiment. Here is an easy fix to the problem.
1. Download the Newest Version of DaeMon Tools but do not install yet.
2. In Normal Windows Mode (Non-SafeMode) and go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers and delete SPTD and SPTD_xXxX (The X indicates a random number)
3. Restart the computer and Install DaeMon Tools Normally
