Vista RC2 Solution

Over the last few days I have had just about every issue I have seen reported on these boards. I couldn't change the drive letter, my physical DVD burner disappeared, I couldn't delete SPTD, etc.
I have found a solution to the issues I listed, and potentially more. It fixes the mounted 'drive' from showing up broken in the Device Manager.
Hop into regedit and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Delete the values for upperfilters (if you have it) and lowerfilters. Then reset. That worked for me on 2 machines so hopefully it helps here too.

You so lucky. But for me it dosn't work, not reistall, not regystry editing. p5wd2 pr, RC2 5744. Please help! anyone.

How do you mean with the upper and lower filters?


I have Vista RC1 5728 but can i do the same thing?
