i just would like to know, if i use daemon tools on my computer, for my use, not commercial use, private at home, is daemon really free of charge ?

registering (paying) for daemon-tools is optional. You may install daemon-tools free of charge.

To sum up : you can pay if you want for private use.
You have to pay if you have commercial use of DT.

Since you are in the first state, you don't need to pay.
