  • High Idle CPU Usage After Installing Daemon Tools

I just tried to install the newest version of Daemon Tools on Vista x64 and although they install and seem to work correctly i noticed that the idle cpu usage is greatly increased from around 1% to 60%-70%. The task manager with the "Show Kernel Times" option enabled indicates that the majority of the time is taken up the by the kernel itself and this is confirmed by removing the drivers Daemon Tools installs which fixes the problem. Alcohol 120% trial version also does this so I'm thinking its related to SPTD.

Anybody seen this before? With the driver installed I cant play music or use windows smoothly.
