  • SafeDisc blacklisted D-Tools in Uru Ages Beyond Myst?

    Operating System: WinXP w/ SP1
    Burning Software: Nero 5.5.9.17, Alcohol 120% 1.4.6 Build711
    Anti-virus Software: Norton AV 2k3
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.41

Ok, the Uru image was made w/ Alcohol 120 using the .mds format. I mounted the image using d-tools and installtion from it was successful. When I try to run the game however, the Uru splash screen comes up but after a little while it pops up a msg that the cd isn't in the drive.

Is the SD used in Uru known to blacklist D-Tools? If so is a fix currently being worked on?

    Thanks

Remake your image using safedisc + sub-channel.

Okie, I'll give that a try but according to your post here the latest versions have d-tools blacklisted. I wasn't sure whether the SD used on Uru was one of the more recent ones.

I'm not sure if uru is sd 2.9 or 3.1. If subs works for you great.

          Uninstall CLoneCD virtual drive !!!

          Operating System: Windows 98 SE
Burning Software: Nero, InCD, CloneCD, VCDImager, DV-Studio
Anti-virus Software: Norton Antivirus 2003 Professional Edition
          DAEMON Tools Version: 3.44

Well, I would like to give you a tip about the english/german/french version of URU (Safedisc 3.10.020)... it took me a lot of time to find the problem.

I don't know if the tip is useful for other games; perhaps..

The game will not launch IF THE VIRTUAL DRIVE OF CLONECD 4.2.0.2 IS INSTALLED ! (You will always get the message : "please insert the correct disc...").

In that case, uninstall CloneCD, then reinstall it unchecking the installation of the virtual drive (you don't need it, if you use DT  )

I think that other virtual drives will also give trouble.
Daemon Tools 3.44 works perfectly, even using a .ccd image.
