  • Vista reactivation from changing drives?

Have there been any instances of users having to reactivate Vista after changing the number of virtual drives?

Can I take that as a no?

There's no reason it should cause that. I know I've never encountered it before (using Alcohol's virtual drives, but they're the same thing).

Hmm... I'm just concerned about this because I don't like having to call people. When I installed Vista, I activated online before I had found all the necessary drivers. It detected a hardware change somewhere in there, and I had to call and actually speak to someone at MS to reactivate.

Apparently online/automated telephone activation only works once, and I'll have to speak with a rep to reactivate every time from now on.

Just as with XP, activation is going to be strict at release time, and will become more relaxed as time goes by. SP1 may even drop the restrictions somewhat on activation, though that's just an assumption, and not based on any foreknowledge I may have.
