As you might already know, from recent time DT Lite and DT Pro are using now ONLY ONE language file for both applications: for example for English "enu.dll" and for German "deu.dll"

So from now on please send us only one COMPLETE translation of "enu.dll" file into another languages!
(for example for Czech language into "cze.dll")

As of 13. Sep 2007 we have:

1) English (enu.dll) = no help currently needed
FULLY complete language file

2) Chinese simplified (chs.dll)
3) Czech (cze.dll)
4) Swedish (sve.dll)
5) German (deu.dll)
6) French (fre.dll)
7) Italian (ita.dll)
8) Russian (rus.dll) = no help currently needed

There is also attached a Translator Tool (version 1.1 of 13-Sep-2007)
and current 8 language files in ".dll" format (and also a file with language files in XLS format for those who will have problems with launching DT Translator tool).

Basically it is recommended to launch "20070913-ver1-1-DTProTranslator.exe" DT Translator tool and load "enu.dll" as a source language and another language as a destination language and take a look on missing fileds in the right columns.

Or of course if you would create a new language then you would make up a new destination language.

Please report here all your comments and suggestions!

Yes so far it is easier to post you translation files here, in this forum (I guess later we will make it a bit different)

I will forward now your German Lang. file to DT developers so they could update their German file!

Hello!

TarnslatorTool v1.1 published in first post of this thread has an incorrect functionality: it removes newlines from the strings while original ENU.dll contains strings with newline characters in it. The correct approach would be to trim leading and trailing newlines but preserve them inside the text.
I have got Visual Studio at work, so for me it is not a problem -I can make final modifications with Visual Studio (or even change spaces to newlines in hexadecimal editor). However this might be an issue for some translators if they are not related to software development by profession.

mastermind
28.09.2007, 12:07
Temporary workaround: Type \r\n in DTPro Translator where you want newlines.

Here is Ukrainian translation for DT Pro Adv.
During development my main goals were to make translation sound naturally, be clear, not misleading (and correct, of course ;) ). I believe I did my best to achieve those goals at current stage but I do not have application itself and could not see it live. So, blind translation is a blind translation and I may want to make some corrections when I'll be able to try it in DT Pro.
I have also updated short version of DLL for DT Lite 4.10 with some corrections and improvements to match changes in full version. The file can be downloaded from:
http://oder.eleks.com/DaemonTools/4_10/UKR.dll
Hope you will enjoy the translation and enjoy using DAEMON Tools.

Hebrew translation is ready :)
A couple of notes though:
1. In order for it to display correctly, the program itself needs to be right-to-left. As in, mirrored. So this is up to the devs.
2. Hebrew is a very difficult language to translate technical terms into, but I tried my best to research on each term and choosing the correct word. Wouldn't mind evaluation of another Hebrew speaker though.
Cheers.

EDIT: Fixed the LanguageID.

There are following problem:
1. When I am trying to introduce one of my polish letters, then menu in translator appears, apparently it has the same key combination.
2. For polish letters there are two codig page used, which are not compatible to each other.
I will make a translation without special characters, then I will import it to word and I will convert it to both coding systems, and then I will start testing

Just looked through the latest in this forum published translations and found some errors:

Arabic:
You forgot the three dots at the end of (rightclick on virtual drive and you will see):
Mount Image...
Device Properties...
Set Device Parameters...

Also it is still unmount image in context menu. Also enable shell extensions in options menu and other untranslated strings.

Czech:
Set Device Parameters...

Dutch:
You forgot the three dots at the end of (rightclick on virtual drive and you will see):
Mount Image...
Device Properties...
Set Device Parameters...

Unmount/mount image

Croatian:
Use English letters for language description, you can add local one in brakes like we german translators did.

Ukrainian the same as for Croatian.

One little correction for Swedish: In context menu on virtual drive it is one time "Mounta Image" and the other one "Avmounta image"

Portuguese (Brazil):

Português - Portugese (Brazil)

Croatian:

Ukrainian the same as for Croatian.

Why should I do that? If a person does not know English he/she needs to see at least one native word in UI to know where to click :). And if you do not understand what is Hrvatska or Українська, you do not need to select those items.
So, I would say language name should be written in its own language. As an option I would consider acceptable to have two resource strings: for English language name and for language name in the language itself.

I think the first error message appears when an image program has locked the drive and you want to create an image from this drive with DT.

And the option is as i remember at image creation.

I don't quite understand. Of course the translations embedded with DT Pro 4.11.0219.0 are old (4.10.0218.0). We haven't had the chance to see the updated ENU language DLL before the new version was released - ergo the newest translations available during release was the 4.10.0218.0 translations. Can't really agree with the translation being terrible. Not much differnce between the one you're linking to and the one i did. The major differences seems to be what to call "mount" and "image". Neither of our translations is wrong i think. But i can confess i made a few errors with spacing some words up. These will of course be corrected with my next release along with other errors if someone notices me about them.

If you disagree, maybe you should discuss it with other Swedes and see what they think. When I did the Norwegian translation, I was also in disagreement with myself whether I should just simply call an image "imagefil". But I ended up using the same wording that tim-international has used - "montere" for "mount" and "avbildning" for "image". It takes some time getting used to new words, though. Most of us (Scandinavians) probably just call an image "image" also in our native languages.

Most of us (Scandinavians) probably just call an image "image" also in our native languages.

I am of course open to suggestions if they are mentioned to me. Noticed in for example Alcohol the swedish trasnlation inst using avbild anymore it have been changed to image so i assumed the most people prefered using the word image instead since it got changed. But anyway didnt mean to sound like i am a selfish person who cant take critisism. Just wanted to say that i dont think the translation was terrible. But will indeed listen to the opinion.

Your work isn't terrible. It's not constructive criticism to call the entire translation bad because of couple of disputable wordings.

My advice is to ask friends and aquaintances what words they would prefer to use. If it seems most natural for Swedish DT users to use the words 'image' and 'mount' (or variations of those words), then use them. If most people seem to prefer "avbild" and "montera", then use those.

This is only a friendly suggestion, I don't mean to interfere in your business. Keep up the good work.
