  • Virtual Drive gone

Today Windows Autoupdate installed Updaterollup KB908250 for Updaterollup 2 for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and wanted to restart the system. After the restart my virtual drive was gone.
I could still insert images but the drive would not appear in the explorer and I could not access it. I deinstalled Daemon Tools, downloaded the newest version and installed it again. Now if I click set device parameters, I see that the drive does not have a drive letter assigned to it. If I try to chose any letter from the list and click OK, I get the error message:
Unable to set new drive letter.
What can I do to get things working again?
