  • virutual drives disappear, windows askes for drivers

Operating System: Windows xp professional SP1
Burning Software: nero 6, windows media player
    Anti-virus Software: norton antivirus 2002
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.41

    This is what happens:
I install daemontools, then windows says: new hardware detected blah blah
    then: hardware installed.
I look in the directory where the cd-drives are and a virutual drive pops up, then a few seconds later it disappears.
I've tried nero image, alcohol 120% and daemontools with the same result.
I've tried earlier versons, and I have reinstalled the programs several times without making any difference.

    please help!

      hi
try and search the dvd/cd-Rom thing in the device manager. there you should rightclick on the stealth dvd rom that belongs to daemon and then you click on update driver or sth. like that. then you click on choose from a list..., then dont search i'll search, but before you have to search for a cdrom.inf in the windows folder, after you have searched it you choose it as the driver for the virtual dvd-Rom drive. then it should work fine.
      I hope it works.
