  • Dr. Web 4.30a detects a virus.

Operating System: Win XP HE SP1
    Burning Software: none
    Anti-virus Software: Dr. Web 4.30a
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.44

When I'm installing DT my antivirus says it found a virus (WIN.EXE). Since nobody posted anything like that before I suggest it's the antivirus' bug. Am I right?

Win.exe is not a Daemon Tools file, it's not even a Windows file. The Windows executable is named win.com.
If it's a virus then just deleting (or renaming) the file won't do the job, as it will be back after a reboot.
Try to remove the virus with your anti-virus software, or find out what virus it is and look for a free cleaner at www.symantec.com.

WIN.EXE is a name of a virus, that is 1. 2 - Windows XP never had and will never have a "win.com" file.

          Mnemonic
Dr. Web is one of the best antiviruses together with NAV and Kaspersky. But in contrast to the last two it takes a lot less memory.
