  • Daemon Tools 4.11 keeps wanting to install SPTD, reboot, and then repeat over and ove

m trying to install Daemon Tools (whatever version is most recent, it think 4.11) and it keeps wanting to install SPTD and then "reboot to continue installation", which I do, but then when i reboot to continue the installation, it will just do the same thing -- install SPTD, then tell me to reboot to continue, over and over. I've even installed the standalone SPTD (which i think is slightly newer than the packaged one w/ daemon tools 4.11) but I keep getting the same result, and can't ever actually get to the . Anyone encounter this before? Is there a way to install daemon tools without having the installer automatically want to install SPTD first?

I've checked the FAQ forum but can't quite seem to find anything similar, if this has been addressed please post a link to the solution! thanks

Please check your system event log and post any possible errors with binary data.
    And provide your OS specs.

I have exactly the same Problem the pc will always restart... after starting the installation and never finish.

I had daemon tools earlier on this pc and than updated the version, after that it didn't work so i uninstalled it and tried to only install the new version, which resulted in the know problem. Sadly I forgot which the older version was. :-(

      So please help!

@ Developer : I am not a pro with my pc and I don't understand your suggestion - please explain - Thank you

Also, I have tried removing SPTD by removing the registry keys and reinstalling, as well as running sptdinst remove (which says it is not installed) yet I keep finding that error w/ it in event viewer

I suggest yiou wipe whole sptd registry key under Services
then reboot and retry SPTD setup.
