  • V4112 lite, can not mount ISO through UNC

    Case details:
    - Windows Server 2003 R2 environment (multiple test servers)
    - Daemon tools v4112 lite
    - 1 file server share (hidden$)
    - From host server (where the share is) it works through \\domain\share$\iso\something.iso
    - From any other server is not. No erre messages, just won't mount
    - In event log there is an error with event ID 4, but can not display the text because of the missing error message DLL

    What is the problem?

    Hi
Please, verify the problem with the latest DT v4.12

Sorry for my previous post. It still has the described error. I mean the Error Event ID 4.

I checked it on multiple machines.

          Similar Issue

Ever Since v3.4x I have been using Daemon Tools to mount isos and mds images on SMB/UNC file shares. When I upgraded to Version 4.11 lite I noticed I was no longer able to mount MDF/MDS file over the shares. I expected it to be fixed soon. Now in 4.12 I can't even mount iso images. The files shares (name and permissions) haven't changed in a long time. Even if I map a network drive to the folder it still doesn't work.

I can still mount images if they are stored on a local HDD

I am running XP x64 w/SP2 yet I have duplicated the issue with a XP home edition computer (after full format restore).

The file server is running 2003 x64 w/SP2
A typical path to a rom is it like this

          \\homesteadengage\Cd Images (Applications)\Ubuntu Linux\ubuntu-7.10-desktop-i386.iso

          Things that I have tried:
          Removing DT including SPTD manually
Making a share that has no symbols or spaces
Disabling any addons or emulation settings

I haven't installed any new programs lately

And this did work before v4.11

          -Thanks

            Another Remark

I found an old version of DT. v4.10 installed it and mounting images on network shares worked like a charm. I then updated my SPTD to v1.55 with DT v4.10 installed and everything still worked.

Should this go into the bug forum for versions v4.11 and up?

I have exactly the same situation, but on X86. Now I am using DT406, and it work fine, however I miss the ISZ format support.

How can I download an older version of DT? (4.10)
