DT 4.12.0 Installer: Browser startup page

There is a bug in the installer as it sets the startup page to DT search page, even though it was not selected.

There is no bug. You just haven't read all completely. After selecting components to install you will see the question for this and you clicked "I accept".

I like the use of DT very much. But I dont like the way it has
hijacked my startup-page. Yes, I clicked "I accept" in the first place , but now , even after uninstalling, reinstalling firefox, system-recall etcetc, the DT-search page is still there.

can I get rid of it please, or is is a life-time relationship ?

You should normally just be able to reset the homepage by changing it in your browsers options. If not, have you tried uninstalling the adware component?

I figured it out allready. Thanks.
changing browsers options does not help. The
DT page is allways there. Uninstalling DT solves nothing.
The trick is simple, unfortunatly I cannot post it here.
(otherwise these wicked DT programmers can make it even
more difficult for future victims

Uhh, if you couldn't change your homepage, that was NOT intentional. So post away.

although my homepage seemed unchanged (google.com)
is was redirected immediately to the DT search-page.
even after uninstalling etc.

anyway, it is solved,
A guy somewhere on the planet lost
the favourites from his firefoxbrowser
Thats all what happened

It would be nice to get an official answer from someone on the DT concerning this. I can't seem to find a direct link anywhere on this site to contact the authors of DT directly, but it is a rather important issue to resolve. But this post directly relates.

Someone came back to me with this very issue claiming that DT hijacks the start page. I proceeded to tell them that the installer gives you the option, but was told that even uninstalling/reinstalling the app doesn't fix the situation.

How is this fixed, do they simply delete their favorites?

As a courtesy for the honorable mention, i'd appreciate some sort of official answer so that people can feel more confident about the software as i really feel its an awesome app.

In case the start page was changed, customer can change it back via Internet options. DT will not do it on its uninstall as it cannot "know" which page has to become the started.
So if you do not want DT start page, change it.

The bug you have mentioned was fixed.
