  • adding 2nd hard drive causes unable to open file in kernel mode

    Hi !

I bought a new SATA hard drive, I reinstalled Windows XP with SP2. I have another SATA hard drive. If just one hard drive is plugged (with XP installed), I can mount ISOs. If I plug the another hard drive, too I cannot mount any ISOs because of the afore-mentioned error message.

    My Daemon-Tools version: Lite 4.12.1

But I tried with older versions with the same result.

    Can anybody help me ?

Norbi81, if you copy the images to your internal hard drive can you mount it successfully?

I have just installed the latest Daemon-Tools, but it does as well the same.
What do you mean "internal" ?
        Both are on SATA cable.
No matter which drive the ISO is copied on.

internal -> ie: NOT network / share drive.. local drive is probably a better description

Ok, I wasn't sure if your SATA drive was your second hard drive outside your PC or if it was your main hard drive. I might try running Filemon when mounting the image, I'm not sure what could be going wrong when your other drive is plugged in. Does it matter where the image is stored, can you put it on any of the drives and it wont mount from both anymore?
