Operating System: XP Pro SP1
Burning Software: CDRWIN3.9/ECDC6/CloneCD
Anti-virus Software: NAV2003Pro
DAEMON Tools Version: 3.44

I'd like to know if it's possible to mount a directory instead of an image with Daemon tools?
If not is there any other software that can do the job (without first making an image of that directory!) ?

Just use subst command

I don't think the subst command makes it a virtual cd-drive!

Subst makes it a virtual device - what do you need more?

A lot of DVD programs do a check for a DVD-device, so that's what I need a virtual DVD drive.
And I don't have a DVD-reader/writer (yet)...

What do you try? To play a DVD from folder? WinDVD has such option - just name the folder VIDEO_TS and use DVD from folder option.

e.g. DVD Decrypter (http://www.dvddecrypter.com) can't be used without a (virtual) DVD device.
and there are more DVD apps with that same 'problem'...

I know that there are a lot of alternatives, but I only want to know if it's possible to mount a directory to a virtual DVD device. :?

Directly no - you need generate ISO or UDF file table and create some temporary image that can be mounted then.
