  • DTools 3.44 set up TWO devices!!

    Operating System: Windows XP Pro
    Burning Software: None
    Anti-virus Software: AGV 7.0
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.44

    I've just installed Daemon Tools 3.44, after uninstalling 3.43, and I have noticed that I have two SCSI devices. I have a D344 and SCSIPORT devices in my device hardwware listing!

    As a result I now have drives E: and F: ( apart from C: being my hdd and D: being my Asus 52x CD drive ).

    With a bit of experimentation I found that drive F: was the virtual drive that mounted my images. I guess drive E: was a symptom of that extra device being installed.

    As a work around I removed the drive letter from E:, with the drive manager, and made F: my new E: drive. Thus I don't have a drive letter being wasted on a phantom drive. However, in the drive manager I still have a CD/DVD device listed for that drive.

    Is there something in this version of Daemon Tools that might cause this?

    Is my drive letter swapping OK?

    Everything is working so far with this install of DT 3.44, but I'm not sure if having such an orphaned drive, phantom or not, will cause any issues. :?

    I have :-
    CPU = Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 800Mhz FSB
    Mobo = Intel D875PBZ ( i875 chipset )
    Ram = 2 x 512 Kingston Hyper-X 433Mhz
    HDD = Seagate 120Gb SATA drive on SATA-0 port

    No hardware SCSI devices installed
    No IDE device controlers
Working...
