In the last weeks a blindwrite image dows not work anymore. In the properties of the virtual drive I see a size of 0 Bytes. Mounting the image works without problems.

I tried Alcohol 120 %: The same behaviour.

Reinstalling Daemon Tools doesn't change anything.

What can I do to track down the problem?

Thanks in advance!

You could tell us your DT/Alcohol version and your OS.

You already checked image path with Windows Explorer that all BlindWrite Image parts are included?

Also which BlindWrite format (b5t, b6t, bwt)?

XP SP3 with all important updates

DT Lite 4.30.1
SPDT 1.56
Alcohol 3.6

b6t with b6i, both files should be OK

I've tried several images which worked some time ago: All the same result. :-(

OK, looks like our BlindWrite bug in latest DT Lite (don't know for sure). Have you already tried DT Lite 4.12.4?

BTW Alcohol 3.6 is a German only version and can't backup copy protected disks.

Where can I get the older version?

Do you remember which BlindWrite 6 version you used for creation? Also we would like to know the image's content, so we could reproduce it.

These images are CD or DVD images?

Can you please send your b6t file to support with reference to this thread and tell full size of your image file?

If you give me ftp access, I can upload both files.

Please write in English in this forum.

I will contact you tomorrow regarding these images for uploading, so we can check it better.

You also know with what BlindWrite version those images got created?

Larry Brent

Sorry but the BW version i don`t know anymore, because the images are older ones ( from year 2004 - 2006 ).

As aforementioned Blazkowicz will inform you today about the upload.

Larry Brent

Tested one of your images on DT Lite and Pro - mounting is fine and i could also run Autorun.

Maybe some path problems - your image path doesn't contain any special character?
BTW which OS are you running?

Larry Brent
28.11.2008, 06:51
OS is Windows XP Prof. SP3
No, the image path doesn`t contain special characters.

If it is running fine at your side, where could be my problem?

Other image formats like .iso e.g. are mounting, but with bw images the virtual drive tray keeps open and i cannot close it.
That seems to be (one of) the problem(s).

I have new installed d-tools also.

Did you try to open the image file or did you only mount it?

Blazkowicz
29.11.2008, 00:57
I ran autorun and also browsed the CD.

Larry Brent

So what can i do?
Any ideas or suggestions.

Because the most of my images are bw5 or bw6 but i can't mount and use it, D-Tools is for me quite useless.

WhatÒ‘s up? Is this the end of the support? What can i do to mount this damned images?

Any hints or tips are welcome.

No, the image path doesn`t contain special characters. Are there other (non-Blindwrite) images in the same path which mount fine ?
Have you recently moved the BW images from another location ?

Would you please try to recreate one of the images with Blindwrite and check whether that works then.

If you're a Pro Advanced customer:
When converting a Blindwrite image to MDS format; does that mount fine ?

Larry Brent

Thx for your replay.

1. Yes there are other non - BW images in the same path and all of them working fine.
2. No
3. I have created recently with the newest BW version an image (what i have sent to Blazkowicz).
This image does also not work.
4. Converting does also not work correctly.
Starts to convert but at the end there is only an error message. The converted mds file is not readable, says it contains no data.

Can you please redownload setup and reinstall and check again then.

Could you tell us hash value of your imgengine.dll file?

EDIT: Converter error reproduced, but mounting is still fine here. Converter issue is already resolved in next unleashed version.

Check properties of mentioned files with a Hash Calculator like
e.g. www.beeblebrox.org/hashtab

Larry Brent

Ok, thanks for the info.

The MD5 hash value for imgengine.dll is
2C4139DF1CFE9AD6600500C455B0B98E

Blazkowicz
02.12.2008, 19:38
OK, thanks for the hash.
Please wait for next DT Pro, it is possible your problem is fixed as Converter is working in next version with your bt6 image.

Just encountered such type of problem in latest DT Lite (with MDS images), and i could fix it with deactivating every virtual drive and enabling again.

Larry Brent
15.12.2008, 17:56
How to do so?
Deaktivate in system control or in DT?

Blazkowicz
15.12.2008, 18:05
I have done that in DT.

Larry Brent
15.12.2008, 18:10
Ok, did it in both places - but did not help for me.

With the newest version of DT Pro 4.30.0304.0047 the mounting problem is gone. BW5 and BW6 images are both mounting now without any problem. :)

Thank you very much
