  • What use are thse features?

I asked support the following question:

I am confused by the virtual IDE feature is an why I would want it as well as the "image converter". What do these features do?

They did not bother to answer. They did send me a link to the general forum, which does not answer my question either.

Can someone tell me what value these features add? I am considering buying a multiuser license, but the web site and the FAQ and product page do a loser of a job explaining why I would care about these features for the additonal cost.

You can convert all your images to MDF/MDS without recreating them with Image Converter.

There are many games which are working in virtual IDE drive and not in virtual SCSI drive (normal DT drive).

DAEMON Tools Pro Advanced has the only virtual IDE drive in the world. All other programs and companies provide virtual SCSI emulation.

Thanks, what is the advantage to an MDF file over an ISO? Compression? Does it work with some othr software?

ISO can't contain copy protection related data. MDF/MDS does.
It works with DAEMON Tools and Alcohol.

One advantage is in fact the ability to compress images. One other advantage is, that you can split your images for example to store images >4GB on FAT32 partitions...
