Try to update the ASPI drivers with e.g. ForceASPI 1.7

                    Now I got error:
An error occured while trying to copy a file:
                    I/O error 23

                    or something like this:

You maybe have some incompatible 3rd party driver running.

I too am having problems with CRC errors when installing games using an iso image (from a number of programs).. If I use the original CD, or actually burn the ISO (made from the original CD) to another CD and instll with that, the games installl fine. Sometimes the error is a CRC error, sometimes the behaviour is weirder e.g. the game appears to install fine, but some of the files turn out to be corrupted.

I'm running XP Pro Sp1. I've isolated my firewall and antivirus programs as not being the culprits. Your help is appreciated.

I had similar problems, it was caused by a corrupt memory-modul.
Weird, because it installs fine from original cd but not from image.
burned image works also. After I swaped memory modul, I/O-error never
                            appeared again

                              try running memtest86...

you should get errors if it is a faulty memory module...
