  • BSOD during DTPro4300305 installation

Had version 4300303 installed, which worked under XP, but didn't work under Win7. Saw update on DT site, which like to work there so I downloaded it and tried to update XP first and then try under Win7.
Installation began and then asked restart. Restarted and when Explorer was up system unexpectedly crashed with Blue Screen INVALID_PROCESS_DETACH_ATTEMPT (6, and all parameters zero)
Restarted computer. System up without any problems. DT wasn't installed. Started installation again - almost immediate Blue Screen.
Restarted Windows, turned off everything that could imagine - firewalls, HFS, uTorrent. Uninstalled sptd hidden device and fake IDE (both visible with Show Hidden Devices option selected). Restarted Windows, started installation - Blue Screen.
Restarted, downloaded SPTD 1.58 from DuplexSecurity. Run it - it says that 1.58 is already installed. Chose "Uninstall", restarted. Reinstalled SPTD 1.58, restarted.
Run DT setup - Blue Screen. F**K!!! As you probably guessed I'm despaired.
What I gonna do? Do you need kernel dump/debug prints/something? Some magic switches in boot.ini?
    OS XP SP2 English.

Win7 build 7000. Although I don't really understand how it relates to the problem - all the problems were experienced under XP, but if you need

Now can't install previous version as well - same problem.
SPTD 1.58 however is able to uninstall itself and then previous version can be installed.

i was faced the same problem. I fixed the problem as following:
                  1. Keep pressing the "escape" key During booting up in safe mode to disable loading the SPTD driver .
                  2. install sptd version 1.56 which can work with jetico v2.
                  3. restart the system in normal mode, it work.

                    Almost year later...
SPTD upgraded from 1.58 to 1.62, but bug still exists... Does anyone really care? Or "Windows 7" is such a buzz-word that everybody suddenly forgot about XP?

You do have a minidump with SPTD 1.62?

It's strange. Minidump creation is enabled on my system, but no dump was created lately.
Can't you reproduce this bug? It's evidently some kind of conflict between Jetico firewall and Daemon Tools with SPTD 1.58+

                              OK, just tested.
Installed SPTD 1.62, reboot and then Jetico, no issues.
                              Started 308 setup -> BSOD.

                              Probably caused by : sptd.sys ( sptd+2673c )
                              INVALID_PROCESS_DETACH_ATTEMPT (6)

I hope DuplexSecure can fix it.
