  • V:tM Redemption protection

I'm going through my old games and trying to make backups before the CD's are put into storage, and ran across an oldie-but-goodie: Vampire the Masquerade Redemption. Unfortunately I haven't been able to figure out what kind of protection is on the disc. Protection ID acknowledges the presence of a CD key, but the game also does a disk check that I can't seem to pass with the various images I've tried making.

I'm running DTPro 4.30.0305 with 1 IDE drive (so SCSI isn't the issue) to create and mount the images, and so far the only thing I can tell is that the 2nd CD (the Play disc) is recognized as multi-session. Any help would be appreciated.

Older titles were often hotwired to the installtion drive.
In case you've installed using your discs and not the images:
Open Regeditor and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Activision\Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption\v1.0
Rightclick on the string value CDDRIVE -> modify; now enter the letter of your virtual drive and try again.
I'm not employed by Disc Soft and my views do not necessarily reflect the ones of the company.
