  • Sudden reboot during installation

    Operating System: Windows 2000 Pro
Burning Software: Nero 6 Ultra Edition
Anti-virus Software: Norton AntiVirus 2003 Pro
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.44

During the installation of the Daemon Tools v. 3.44 my PC suddenly reboots. When it has started up again Daemon Tools _seem_ to be installed but if I try to mount an image I will experience the same sudden reboot.

I have not had any previous Daemon Tools installation on this system since it's a pretty clean OS install.

I've got a log from the installation. Please help me out!

Better check for minidump in winnt\minidump folder, send newest minidump to support@daemon-tools.cc

You don't tell the truth - your system is far from clean as it is already stuffed with Starforce drivers:

        prosync1.sys
        sfhlp01.sys
        prohlp02.sys
        prodrv06.sys

Try to remove them from System32\Drivers folder, reboot and check again.
This problem may not be related directly to these drivers, because they usually work fine, but they may conflict with some other drivers.
Nevertheless prosync1.sys is known to cause serious problems on some systems - it is candidate No.1 for removal.
