View Full Version : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware blocks access to updates

Hi to all,

Today I got very surprised when I couldn't check for updates with my DAEMON Tools 4.30.4. It just said "Connection timed out.".

When I looked at the taskbar, a message balloon popped out saying, "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: Infection detected:".

Any help appreciated! :rolleyes:

Checked with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.4. The problem was not reproduced.
Try to disable all security software.

Did you activate the new IP Protection module?
Right click tray icon, then tick "IP Protection". After this, try to update DT.

Looks like that feature is just for paid customers of that product.

Correct - as a Beta tester of MBAM, I have the full product installed - and the IP blocking module does, indeed, block access to DT-related IPs.

I had to disable the IP block feature in order to come here to write this post....

@johngalt, for me it was not necessary to deactivate IP Protection to come here... MBAM just blocks access to DT's main site and its update server. (so far)
