System freeze

Hello,

The Problem:

After installing Daemon Tools, launch of following software makes system freeze for a minute or so.

1. Nero Burning ROM ("Scanning SCSI/IDE bus, please wait...", upon start-up)
2. Exact Audio Copy
3. CloneCD (Also when I make "Rescan SCSI/IDE Bus" from "Tools" menu)

The "Fire Burner" works fine.

I tried all the work-arounds like removing the "nerocd95.vxd" file, no success.
I've same problems with all version newest than 3.33.

Operating System:

Windows Millennium 4.90.3000
With all updates from "Windows Update" site.

DirectX 9 4.09.00.0902
VIA Hyperion 4-in-1 4.51
ASPI 4.60

Anti-Virus Software:

AntiViral Toolkit Pro (AVP) 3.0.132.4
But, I use the AVP Scanner only for time to time.

Version of Daemon-Tools:

Daemon Tools 3.46

Burning Software:

Nero Burning ROM 5.5.10.56
Fire Burner 1.06
Exact Audio Copy 0.9
CloneCD 4.2.0.2

Easy CD Creator:

No.

i got a similar problem, only that my system freezes only when i install trough daemontools with mounted onto it a image file a program or a game, but only from my secondary harddisk this happens and not from my primary!!!!


but if i try too copy the iso file from secondary hd too primary theres no freeze problem!!!

DAEMON Tools Version: 3.46 switched back to 3.41

History:
from one day to the other my systems started to freeze. Not only when mouting an image. The problem the freeze ocurred randomly.. you couldn't say .. after doing this or that it freezes.

After testing all option and tracking all changes.. I found the solution for my systems:

I was always updating my Daemon Version .. the last version 3.44 and 3.46 caused my problems. After going back to 3.41 everything is again working fine.

Had the same problem myself with version 3.46. It would happen some of the time, could have 4 images of a game, and it would freeze on the 3rd. Another would freeze on the 1st.

Sometimes when switching/choosing a image the system will freeze. (no mouse movement, no hd activity, no ctrl-alt-del reaction, just still image)

I switched to 3.41 and havent had it happen since.

My system is a: Intel P4 Hyperthreading 3.0Gh, Asus p4p800, sb audigy 1, sapphire 9800 radeon,
