  • Daemon Tools Lite Dosn't Run W7

    Hi!

    I've upgraded to Windows 7 and I'm trying to run the latest Version of Daemon Tools Lite, I've read all the infomation
    on the forum and I've followed the instructions to the letter.

    I've installed the SPTD 1.62 Drivers before installing Daemon Tools.

    The error I get when I try to run daemon tools is this;

    This program requires at least windows 2000 with sptd 1.60 or higher. Kernal debugger must be deactivated.

    Uninstall DT. Open Register Editor (Start -> Run... -> regedit), navigate to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\SPTD

    and change Start value to 4.

    Now reboot, navigate to this key again and change permissions on this key - right click on the key -> Permissions and set Full Access to Everyone .

    Delete this key, reboor your PC and install Daemon Tools again.

    Note: It is strongly recommended to disable all security software during installation SPTD/DT.

      I too was having the same problem as the OP.

      I followed the instructions as mentioned by the adminstrator but I had one little problem when deleting the registry key. I for some reason after a few reboots went and had to manually delete all the sub keys I was allowed to (with the full permissions set) in order for SPTD to properly install.
