  • sptd crash windows

I tried to install deamon tools, but after reboot the windows wont load. So i went in windows advanced startup and chosen to load last known good configuration.

After looking on the net I think I have a sptd problem.

So I tried to delete it.
I deleted DT and alcohol 120.
Tried to delete in registry>services>sptd - I change start from 0 to 4 -> windows cant load.
Tried to delete sptd.sys -> windows wont load -> needs windows repair O.o ...

I downloaded sptd installer and it doesn't find sptd driver.
If I go to device manager -> sptd:
This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

    So what to do now?

      Microsoft Windows XP Pro
      DAEMON Tools Lite v4.35.5
      SPTD installed with DT.

As I said if I change start string in registry key from 0 to 4 the windows won't boot -> I need to use Load last known good configuration.

SPTD doesn't get loaded at all when start value is 4. Windows is checking all services and if value is 4 it jumps to next entry.

Also for "maybe" SPTD errors you should contact their developers (DuplexSecure).

EDIT: Noticed your thread at DuplexSecure:

so this means that I also get same fauolt it cant be fixed and then I cant use DT at all because when I reinstall the OS I have to not use DT incase of this problem

pitty looks like I have to go use something else that works then

If you have the same problem, try to follow this guide - DAEMON Tools Professional Help: Registry and SPTD problems.
