  • SPTD problem

I had the seemingly frequent "can't add adapter" and "DT requires SPTD something something of version 1.something" (sorry I can't remember exactly but it's all over the forum so I'm sure you know which I'm talking about).

I was adviced in the "Registry and SPTD problems" guide to alter and delete the sptd keys in regedit, I also deleted "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\19659239224e364682fa4 baf72c53ea4" which allowed me to properly uninstall the unfunctional DT Lite, rebooted and went forth to install new, proper, SPTD (version 1.69 x86 (32bit)). I got this error:
    "Failed to open service key."

What is wrong and(/or) what can I do to fix this?

Now, It might just be me being blind but I couldn't find anything on this problem.. so please enlighten me and I'd be most grateful.

    Thanks in advance.

I did what you said and gave full permission to everything.

This seems to have fixed the problem (I just need to reboot to see if things actually work), and I could install SPTD without errors.

      Thanks for the help!
