disk error on start up

  • disk error on start up

    laptop model: compaq presario cq45
    OS: win7 home premium
    Security software: MS security essentials

    when i install DT and restart my laptop it flashes a blue screen then restarts, i can boot into safe mode however
    i have tried following this guide here but i dont know what to do after deleting the sptd entry, reinstalling the sptd thing just causes the same problem as before

    please help

    Please post latest minidump file (c:\windows\minidump).
    Are you using latest DT version?

        Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Settings (the 3rd one) -> Drop-down list at bottom -> 2nd option

        Now install DT again and after reboot let it BSOD.

          Well, when i went to install DT an error appeared when sptd was installing that said "failed to open service key" and then the installation stops and says "sptd setup error code 5" and closes.

              i have decided to give up on daemon tools because a program that takes this long to get working just isn't worth it

                Well, it normally doesn't take long, it only takes a bit longer when system has problems.
