I was installing D-Tools Lite and during the STPD driver install the installation hung then my laptop shutdown on me. I've been getting this error ever since:

I've uninstalled D-Tools lite countless times as well as used the STPD remover to perform clean installations, but it continues to crash whenever I try to start it.

I am running Windows 7 upgraded from Windows Vista where there was no daemon tools previously installed. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Do you have any security software installed?
Did you try to install the latest SPTD version?

Only software I would have installed would be avgFree and yes I have installed the lasted STPD separately and D-Tools Lite afterwards, it still does not work.

Did you follow Security software solutions | DAEMON Pro Help guide carefully?

Yea I followed both documents carefully, although nothing in the security document really applied to me. I've done the SPTD removal from the registry a number of time and the result is still the same.
