  • Multiple CD installation problem, component transfer error...

    Operating System: Windows 98 SE
    Burning Software: N/A
    Anti-virus Software: N/A
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.46

First off, I've been using these tools for a while, and I haven't had any other problems aside from this, they're amazing and effective, and I doubt this problem is caused exclusively by them, but rather some combination of stupidity I've created. Anyhow, here it is:

I mount the first image, everything goes fine. I am prompted for the second image, which i mount, then hit ok to continue installation. Immediately I get "component transfer error," followed by an Ikernel error, specifically:

IKERNEL caused an invalid page fault in
    module KERNEL32.DLL at 0187:bff7a388.

It then goes to blue screen, telling me that to please insert the CD with <serial number> in drive E, or possibly clean it off.

Like I said, is this even a tools problem, a personal problem with me being moronic, or a bad image problem? I was sent these by a friend, who assures me he's had no problems himself, though he still has the original CDs and may not know exactly what I'm talking about with my virtual drive issues.

I've been exhausting what options I can think of to fix this problem, and I am officially out of ideas. Any information on what causes this problem, or possible fixes would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
