  • Power DVD Compatibility

Operating System: Windows XP Pro SP-1
Burning Software: Nero 6 Ultra Ed
    Anti-virus Software: Norton AV 2004
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.46

I've started having a problem lately when playing DVD images in PowerDVD using Daemon Tools as the emulator.

The issue is that as soon as the movie begins playing (within about 10 seconds), Explorer.exe will crash. It seems fairly consistant, happening at least 95% of the time. It never happens with normal DVDs, just ripped images emulated by Daemon Tools. If I use VirtualCD to mount the image it plays just fine.

Anyone have any ideas or hear of this before?

    Thanks!

Which program did you use for creating those images???

If the dvd is protected , alcohol will not help
The better use bw , but I am not sure whether it is officially allowed to create images of usual dvds!
But certainly you can , if you owned them

I do the same as you, and I use DVD Shrink/DVD Decrypter + PowerDVD 5.0 without any problems, both with ISOs or files.

Anyway, for DVD video discs there's no practical reason for working with ISO images, since most players can play DVDs from a directory, so if you have problems you may want to try that.
