Operating System: Windows XP SP2 (semi-fresh)
Burning Software: None (that is why I downloaded DT :])
Anti-virus Software: AVG
DAEMON Tools Version: 3.46

Hi,

I have read a few of the posts regarding BSOD's during installation on Windows XP SP2 and the possibility of there being conflicts with Starforce. I do have a Starforce game installed, and when I did try to install DT I received a stop message and have a mini dump file that I can send.

Are you still looking at these files to see what is going on? If so, what exactly is the conflict that is happening?

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that you will help me out here with trying to get this installed.

Thanks

Well, try to un-install the game and remove all Starforce drivers.
Or try to update the Starforce drivers.
Starforce tools available:
Update (http://www.star-force.com/support/sfdrvup.zip)
Remove (http://www.star-force.com/support/sfdrvrem.zip)

Going to try to update the drivers now and see what happens.

I figured the latest drivers would be included in the 1.2 patch of ToCA but I guess not.

Wish me luck ;)

Ok, just updating the drivers for Starforce did not work. When I tried to install DT I got the same BSOD.

I rebooted into Safe Mode and did a System Restore.

I then rebooted and removed the Starforce drivers, and after rebooting again installed DT without a hitch. I haven't rebooted again to finish the DT installation though.

I do have one question though. If I reinstall Starforce/ToCA Race Driver 2, am I going to have issues again?

Usually you will have no problem then.
