Operating System: Windows XP Pro SP2
Burning Software: Nero
Anti-virus Software: McAfee 2004
DAEMON Tools Version: 3.47

hey guys,

my problem is this:

Cannot create directory
'c:\WINDOWS\Installer\{3DED3A72-61A8-4B87-98A5-EF0BC8038AA0}'. A file with this file name already exists. Please rename or remove the file and click retry, or click cancel to exit.

i get that message when trying to install daemon! i've searched high and low for the said file, i cant find it anywhere :( please help!

You have probably configured your OS to hide files with the Hidden or System attributes: try to open a command shell (start-run-cmd.exe) and then enter cd "c:\windows\installer\{3DED3A72-61A8-4B87-98A5-EF0BC8038AA0}" and then start . -> remove all files and the directory.

Or perhaps an easier way is to configure Explorer to show all files: press windows key+E, then choose tools-folder options-view and from there make sure that all files are shown, including system files.
