  • Incompatibility Apple iTunes 4.7

    Operating System: Windows XP
    Burning Software: Instant CD/DVD
Anti-virus Software: McAfee Virus Scan Professional
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.47

    Hi!

After upgrading Apple iTunes to version 4.7 it stopped recognizing audio CD-images mounted with Daemon tools. The built-in CD-checker from iTunes reports the drive as incompatible and suggests uninstalling virtual CD drives.

Going back to iTunes 4.6 solves this issue, so I guess they introduced some kind of new "feature". I'd wish for a long term fix, though, to be able to update to future versions of iTunes. Or is there a fix I can apply now? Any suggestions welcome!

    Cheers,
    Hendrik

If downgrading to iTunes v4.6 solves the issue, you sould contact their support to fix their bug.

      Found a fix

      Operating System: Windows XP sp2
      Burning Software: Alcohol 120%
      Anti-virus Software: AVG
      DAEMON Tools Version: 3.47

I've been wrestling with this for the past couple days, but thought of a fix after reading this thread. I set the device parameters in Daemon Tools to something other then "Generic DVD-Rom" (I used Pioneer DVR-108) and its recognized in iTunes 4.7 now.

      1) Right-click daemon tools
      2) Virtual CD/DVD Rom
      3) Device 0 (or whatever one you are using)
      4) Set device parameters

I set the vendor to: Pioneer
I set the model to: DVR-108
I set the revision to: 1.4
      (I made up the settings, i don't own a dvr-108)

Click OK, wait a minute while DT reconfigures, mount your image, then open iTunes. Hope this helps you out.
