  • Data Error (cyclic redundancy check) ???

    Operating System: Win2000
    Burning Software: Nero
    Anti-virus Software: Norton 2003
    DAEMON Tools Version: v3.47

I have 3 disc images on my computer, that all work fine. however on one of them, if i attempt to copy any files from it to another location, it gives the following error :

    Title of Window
[ error copying file or folder:]
cannot copy ab: data error (cyclic redundancy check)

in this case "ab" is the name of the file. but if i copy any other files it gives the same error with "ab" replaces with the according file.

CRC is the check performed on a CD to check that the files are readable (I.e) not corrupt. Try using ISOBUSTER to see if they are recoverable. Also if the image is not .iso try converting to it u may be able to recover some files this way.
