  • rev 4: too much bel and whistles, maybe?

a quick thought about the new screenshot:

I appreciated the simplicity, the lightness and, obviously, the robustness f the product.
those point made dt won over all the competitors I tried.

Hope the attention and the efforts have not been moved "too much" toward the extra options, instead of the performance/stability of the emulator engine!

    Again:
The screenshot does NOT show v4! It shows PRO version.
V4 will have similar interface to v3.x

      ok, I see.
this doesn't change much my point...
(as a registered user, I guess Il'll have the pro as an upgrade, isn't it?)

anyway, I was talking about the amount of work dedicated to the pro features, hope the priority and the most part of the work could still be dedicated to the engine, and not the pro features.
      thanks

maybe I should mention here that this isn't a "one-man-show", such
projects are too big to handle the whole Threads by one person

The CORE is maintained and coded by one group, as the GUI is coded
by another. The same for the plugins, etc.

The new core is stable it even is able to adapt to special-cases
with exotic filterdrivers (f.e. those for harddisc-encryption, just to mention
        such a special-case)

          I guessed!

and that's the important thing :-)

I definatly applaud their work on v4, but it would be really cool if they released say DT:lite no copy protection emulation or anything like that just pure image mounting for x64. The reason I say this is that windows x64 has no mounting tools at all, and in all honisty a lot of users out there dont use the copy protection systesms as they just download a crack for the game/program and have done with it.

Honestly, we just don't care whether some idiot who downloads and cracks his games wants because we just don't support that kind of usage. Daemon Tools is for making backups of your own games, not for downloaded games.
