  • Deamon Tools freezes Windows when ISO Image is not available any more

Operating System: Windows XP Prof SP2
    Burning Software: none
    Anti-virus Software: McAffee
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.47 (newests)

    Situation:

    DVD-RW is E
    Deamon DVD is F

I have a dvd with several iso images on it.
I mount one of these images, access it via F. no problem.

    Now i remove the dvd.

When I now open the Explorer it opens only as an grey box.
    I can't start any programs.
When I click on the daemon tools icon nothing happens.
    Logoff is not possible->freeze.

I think DT becomes a big problem if the iso image is not available any more.

Cannot confirm that, never a problem with me. And what you are doing there seems to sort of correspond to removing a disc from the CD drive without opening it, unmounting it, or just plain giving the system any chance to even notice what you did - so that sounds like a perfectly logical response from that side to me... :P

      etc.

,jACkdA\W, I was thinking the same thing when I first read that. It is kind of like pulling the power cable from a hard disk attached to your computer, while windows is still running. But a frozen system doesn't sound very nice.

        Hi,
I mounted iso image from network shares on my laptop. It works fine. But when I suspent my laptop and resume it later. Daemon-tools freeze my computer(Actually file explorer only) for a couple of minutes or until I manually umount all iso mounted via Daemon-tools.
I don't think this is a bug, but can this situation be impoved anyway?
        Thanks,
        Simon
