View Full Version : Installed Daemon but Hardware Wizard comes up asking for drivers.

Operating System: WinXP Pro
Burning Software: Nero and NTI
Anti-virus Software: PC-Cillin
DAEMON Tools Version: 3.47

I finished installing Daemon and restarted my laptop. When XP loaded i saw the Daemon icon on the lower right with the other running icons but then the Hardware Wizard came up detecting new hardware. What drivers do i need to install for Daemon to work?

DAEMON Tools requires no extra drivers. Just the standard drivers that come with Windows.

Read what copytrooper (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=4) says here:

I also have imapi.sys on my computer, in addition to the ones listed bycopytrooper (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=4). All the drivers should be Microsoft provided drivers and are included with the operating system. Any additional drivers are NOT required.

maybe try running "SFC /SCANNOW" without the quotes from the command line. That's the system file checker included with Windows XP and later.

So what should i do when the Hardware Wizard comes up? Just cancel it?

Usually just pressing next/finish does the trick.

If that doesn't work, try pointing it to Windows\inf\cdrom.inf.
