  • driver error with install

    Operating System: wondows xp
    Burning Software: nero
    Anti-virus Software: trendmicro
    DAEMON Tools Version: 3.47

when i install d-tools 3.47 i get the following message,

" some driver has invalid name or conflicts with other file or service in system. please choose other driver names or make sure you have rebooted after removal of software using same names."

thats it, the install rolls back, i don't know with what prog the conflict is.

i had d-tools installed previously and it worked fine.

Operating System: Windows XP Service Pack 2
        Burning Software: Nero,Alcohol120%
        Anti-virus Software: Kasperksy Anti Virus
DAEMON Tools Version: Daemon Tools 347

        For me it doesnt work

        1. Open device manager (SCSI/RAID Controllers section) and delete SCSI controller with name corresponding with name of Daemon driver (miniport driver name). If you have problems doing it (eg. system crashes) then start from step 3 (skip steps 1 and 2).

        I dont have a SCSI/Raid Controller Section!
I deleted the files in the driver folder and as much as possible in the registry but nothing happens

You cannot have the Daemon properly installed without it's corresponding SCSI controller which will show up in the device manager
