The way both versions work is different.

Here is a statement from NetSoerfer:
"For DT4, there will be a tool like SFNightmare that hides the IDE drives. So of course you'll be able to play StarForce-protected titles with DT4 as well."

With the new ide-plugin DT pro don't need to hide any drives.

I hope I have answered your question.

StarForce has blacklisted Daemon Tools v3.47. That's the reason why you can't play current StarForce titles if you unplugged your drives.

Without the blacklist, you'll be able to play from Daemon Tools if you either unplug your optical drives or if you use a tool that hides them from the system, e.g. SFNightmare. DT4 will probably include such a tool, but I'm not sure. With Daemon Tools Pro, you can either use such a tool in conjunction with the virtual SCSI drive or use the virtual IDE drive.
        "I was inappropriately blunt, wasn't I? Sorry, I do that a lot."

....and to not confuse people, from what I've read on these boards, the Virtual IDE drive will be a plugin for DT4 Pro.
