daemon installation error

hi there,
well ive downloaded deamon tools 3.47 and just when the install is at the end (teherse missing maybe 5 %) there occures an error windows with the message:

Device Setup Error: code 25009 (0x61b1), -536870389 (0xE000020B) . Contact your support personnel.

I Hope ive contacted the right ones
some time ago i had some problems uninstalling alcohol 120% i think its connected with this ( i experimented a little bit in the registry :X ) can u help me?

Try renaming the driver in the installation.
Busdriver name and miniport driver name for example from
d347bus into d349bus
d347prt into d349prt

just did that but it did not help...the samen error.
i used the method described in the Error 25002 (invalid driver names or driver conflict), or how to remove Daemon Tools drivers thread but it either did not help

Check the permissions of the following keys:
In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es hive the keys with corresponding driver names (i.e. d347prt and d347bus),
and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\D-Tools key,
and Daemon Tools related keys in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\
and in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products hive.
Also check if any other remains of previous installation are present by
following all steps mentioned in thread about error 25002,
reboot after the procedure, then try to re-install.

And btw we have a nice search function right on top of the forum.

i had some troubles with a game and uninstalled deamon347 (which was not the reason), but when i tried to reinstall deamon, i experienced the same problems as "n0m3rcY".
after reading this thread and "Error 25002" and proceeding all steps i´ve still the same probs.
please help & thx a lot

donmichele, you have to reboot after uninstalling, after following the instructions for a manual removal, and then after a fresh reboot try to install DAEMON Tools again. Let us know if you get stuck on any of the steps in the post "Error 25002 (invalid driver names or driver conflict), or how to remove Daemon Tools drivers"

My only suggestion now is to perform steps 1-6 again.

but again proceeding all steps didnґt help. there were neither entries in the device settings nor in the registry and the permissions suggested by Copytrooper have been checked.
still: Device Setup Error: code 25009 (0x61b1), -536870389 (0xE000020B) . Contact your support personnel.
what else can i do?

according to VeNoM386 (and easily found using the forum search function):

"This means setup cannot set hardware ID property of device in registry.
Either registry is corrupt or some global problem with SetupAPI. Make sure you have no unknown devices in device manager before running setup."

hi again!

finally, it was nethertheless a permission problem; i checked "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ R oot\SYSTEM\" again and then precautionary gave permissions to key 0001-0005, cause 0003 didnґt match.
fortunately deamon works again!
