I can't access some page like search and.... Can you give me all the details of how much posts i need for which forum/part.

everyone can use the search-function - and even if you're
NOT logged in! (although we think about to change this, as
    this is really a resource-hog )

All other functions like PM's or avatars are only usable if you
have at least posted 20 posts!

or, better stated as "In 20 (or 20 minus what you have now) you'll be able to get all the functions *allowed* to your group level. Meaning that in 20 you won't get admin / mod rights, etc.

I am sure you knew this, but someone, somewhere, is thinking this very though right now - so I figured I'd nip it in the bud, so to speak.

Yes, sorry but I have 2 forums (1Phpbb and 1vBulletin) and everyone has the functions directly. I don't know why Daemon decided to do it like this. And I'm admin on 19 other forums with more then 30000 members/forum. We also don't like that newbie use all the functions, but still...

Obviously you never got spammed with PMs by users just registered to ask via PM for release date of v4, how and/or where to download games, or even other users to send them Pro version when released. That's the point where fun was over.
Everybody be cool! You, be cool!

yeah, this place got so bad they closed registration for a bit (24 hours I believe) and had to implement closing / deleting threads of users (mostly 12 year old punks) who kept asking over and over when it would be released.

I am an admin at a couple of boards and a moderator at several more, so I have seen both sides of the fence - the one with good users and no problems, and thus no restrictions on new members, and places like this where the restrictions are simply *necessary*.

I can't imagine of any board with such dimensions where
everything runs always well. There are always "spammers",
however, the new countermeasures are really nice and
therefore much appreciated. I doubt we see new
"please stop spamming us, don't request for cracks etc."
announcements, as they are now not needed anymore.

And users that are engaged here and really interested can
use the board without restrictions! I think that 20 posts
are nothing that bad in exchange for full functionality.

I wonder when we'll see the first person to post 20 messages containing random characters....

But yes, I think the counter-measures are really nice.
To contact me privately, pray. I might answer.

We read every post, and if somebody just posted 20 random messages, he'd get banned before he reaches 20 posts... Don't worry
                        "I was inappropriately blunt, wasn't I? Sorry, I do that a lot."
